Ebikes hit the National news - The Independent article today

Steve Richards writes an article about the benefits of the eBike in the UK in The Independent today, he selects and buys a GRACE bike with the BionX superb hub system, funnily enough the motor and gearing is pretty identical to the Mercedes Smart eBike I have just bought This guy must have good taste, anyway a positive for the eBike industry and perhaps something to build on!

I have already, I think I mentioned it in one of my previous posts, the writer of the article chose a different model but same base manufacturer and same superb top end Canadian made motor called BionX.

It doesn't matter what make it is really, just that it is promoting eBikes, he does talk about the cheap nonsense ones that will only last 5 minutes, but that is for each individual to risk assess. I did a risk assessment when I bought mine and ended up with a Mercedes Smart eBike, superb lines and stunning engineering for the money, only suitable for good looking people or you could spoil the lines

My superb top end BionX Rose bike had to be returned to Germany three times in a year with motor faults before I parted with it. I'm really pleased I now have an excellent KTM bike with Panasonic motor in its place!

Guess that's me out then. I have a face like a bulldog that's licking pi$$ off a nettle and my missus has the opposite of a squint, where each eye is endeavouring to look at its adjacent ear...... To think we were thinking of getting a Smart Ebike each.

Shame.... we'll have to look elsewhere.

Thank goodness for that, we don't want the values plunging with riff raff buying up the bargain German and Belgium stock do we, they would probably even get it dirty riding through puddles or over grass kerbs, it would lower the tone and exclusiveness of the superb exclusive machine

The cheapo Chinese bike will be easier to source parts for then the so called smart bike so ultimately will be a better buy in the long run as they use generically available parts that are easy to swap over rather then bespoke made items that in time will be hard to source.

BMW offer a bike just for you.....but you have to wear white socks whilst cycling.
