There can be no doubt, that a newbie wishing to buy an ebike is faced with an overwhelming amount of research in order to decide what bike to buy. Having decided what features he or she needs, there is then the problem of searching through all the manufacturers to see what is available and at what price. Price is particularly important, because most people are on a budget .
My idea, is to have a single page, listing every current model from every seller who wants to participate .Here are some suggested column headings for a start.
Motor. crank drive, front/rear hub.max amp draw
Brakes-type.
Gears-number and type.
Frame. material size type.
mudguards
tyres
Battery- type of chemistry- Amp hour rating -voltage. position on bike
Guarantee- including battery guarantee.
Optional extras
PRICE.
PRICE OF BATTERY REPLACEMENT.
PRICE of delivery
weigh--battery weight
I am sure others could suggest further headings.
This would be an indispensable tool for buyers, and a good marketing tool for sellers.I have no idea how this could be implemented, but with a standard format as described, it would make ebike comparisons so much easier.

I have just had another think about this. There are several members on here who are sellers, or representatives of firms selling Ebikes. I have not looked but I expect that they are not allowed to advertise.
However, if I asked a question of a seller, such as "What is the price and spec of your mid range model ?" he would be allowed to answer.
Could we have a separate forum for this, in the sense that "The Charging post" is a separate forum? So I am asking this question of all sellers. What models do you sell, and can you describe the spec using ALL the headings detailed in my first post on this thread please? If we can get this going, it would be a most valuable asset to all buyers. And to all sellers, which can only be a positive thing for us all.
So how about it?
NB. I have no connection with any seller.

Great idea - Hope it takes off.

It occurred to me t'other day, toward the end of a good day out on the velocipede, that one really needs to ride an ebike for a month or so to be sure of what, exactly, one requires of said bike.
