Just received the Tandem Club magazine which features an article about fitting an Alien Bikes front wheel drive to a tandem trike. The author has used it for runs of about 50 miles, once achieving almost 100 miles on a flat route. The supplied 'switch off' brakes were not fitted because they proved to be unsuitable with the drop bars & gear controls. The spring loaded speed control is fitted to the stoker's bars. The pedelec control also has not been fitted. The writer describes the conversion as easy for anyone who maintains their own bike.
The riders are 80 and 81 years old. The trike is a George Longstaff tandem trike.
