Hi all,
New member but fiddled along time, used to live Hertfordshire, now cape town.
My modded ezee install .
48v 10amp (2,5 kg) pack . Home made battery case , for testing going to finish then remake in carbon fibre.
Ezee controller 25amp. No restriction.(just to keep uk fine it really doesn't do much over 15mph)
Trying to get the whole bike as light as possible.
thanks

Very nice. What's that thing between the battery and head-stock?

Hi Alan,

Nice work indeed, I see it is the Mk2 eZee kit and that you mounted the console on the downtube rather than the handle bars and wonder about the reason for doing that.

I hope your bike is safer in South Africa than Hertfordshire, one of my customers had his eZee converted Claud Butler with 48v battery nicked from Berkhamsted station last July.

I'm glad to hear that it won't go faster than 15 mph:rolleyes:

Oh and by the way, I don't know if you noticed, but one of your fronts forks is missing:eek:

Look forward to reading more.

Hi,
The forks are cheaper if you buy only one.
The console, running 48v it shows full battery all the time, so it really serves no purpose on this bike, I want as few wires going every where as possible.
I will be machining the gear mech to remove as much weight as possible, opening all internal bearing covers and then adding 80ml oil in hub for heat and lube, should I then run at 1250w everything will stay cooler etc.

Its on a carbon frame which I will then blend in the CA and console if I can to make a more oem clean look to the bike, as I have added a lot of carbon parts I am looking for a total weight increase over stock bike weight of.3,3kgs

If you went off road it holds 46km on flat if U pedal as well.
My weight 78kg it uses about 70w per 10km
The mk2 is really quite a strong hub and well under specd at 350w .

Hi Alan,

Just noticed you have a left hand full width throttle on the right of the bars so you are twisting forwards rather than backwards, is there a reason for that?

Ours for the Mk2 kits are half width for 2 reasons, less wrist strain and less likely to get damaged. Because we ride on the left just like SA we supply left hand throttles in the UK so that you can signal a right hand turn and still keep your left hand on the throttle, it also means right hand for gears and left for throttle instead of trying to do 2 things with one hand.......does that make senseo_O

Too many years using right throttle , to think of going left side.
I am looking at small light weight indicators for the bike to take care of that problem, things happen very fast at 15,1 mph

Ah, a unidextrous motor cyclist;)
What a shame you can't get to the 15.5 mph limit:(

Re throttle , its all normal its just that the position is so rotated about 45deg ,instead of below the brake lever to above it.
Maybe you cant see the marks any more, but I never look at them anyway .
Point turn go,(seems to work)
What is the normal complete rear wheel weight?
Can U weight it for me please.

Hi Alan,

I haven't got the weight of the complete motor wheel to hand, but the V2 motor weighs 3.7 Kg.
Hope that helps.
