Factors That Influence Choice

OK, so you have decided that an electric bike is for you, great.

You have probably read loads of reviews, maybe test ridden a few and drawn up a short list of what meets your needs and budget, that's good.

Next, where do you buy from?

Online/mail order or a shop, the former is more often than not cheaper, whereas, when buying from a shop, you can see exactly what you are getting and see who is selling it.

So, you have made that decision.

Now, do you go to the big boys who can supply a wide selection of bikes to choose from, or are you more inclined to choose a low volume specialist who can provide a more personal, friendly and bespoke service?

Does image and personality of the manufacturer/supplier have a significant influence on your choice?

Reputation of an approachable dealer/manufacturer important. Plenty of good reviews from ordinary folk and enthusiastic users/owners. Buoyant resale market with good residual value for when yo fancy a change or ungrade........

Then probably the most important bit, someone with an established service network so the bike can be dropped of easily and conveniently for the inevitable warranty work/repair that tends to come with E bike ownership

I dont really mind, either to be honest but nowhere bespoke near me I think.....

My first was bought off the internet

My second was bought from a local bike shop who were very good, even though not much electric bike experience.

My third will probably be bought from a specialist e-bike shop.......quite big with about 6 different makes available, only 2 of which I am interested in, but the owner is really nice and I know i will get exceptional service from them.
