Please can I get some feedback on a Ebike review that I made for Fafrees Ebikes. Has anyone ever heard of this folding electric bike? If there’s anything you think I could have done differently or better, I’d love to hear.
If you have time, please leave a comment on the video.

Does it weigh three tonnes or four?

Delivery riders will love this dual batteried illegal thing. I'll look ot for it on the seizures thread.

Detailing how to insure the bike and get it approved for road use would be a start at providing really useful info for potential UK/EU customers of the company your selling for. .

If focusing on a UK audience perhaps 'spotlighting' bikes that are legal to ride. If your targeting an international audience? perhaps post in forums with a similar audience to avoid the snark.. The vid was well written and presented, just not the right audience here where we focus on whats fun and legal to ride mostly.

As far as my understanding goes, even if you limit the controller to a max output of 250w, no throttle power, and pedal assist only - would the bike still be illegal to use because it’s rated more than what the maximum output would be?

I know you can use them privately on private land with the lands owners consent, otherwise it does have to go down the class of a light moped (AM).

Thank you for the feedback - it may pay me to focus on only reviewing road legal UK bikes as I wouldn’t want to mislead, or sell someone a bike they wouldn’t be able to use without risking their license getting points and Ebike being seized.

Thanks again guys.

That was better than the previous ones - just a few minor mistakes that most people wouldn't notice. I think you're still giving a bit too much info about things that don't need it. I would have have said. "It has a TFT display" and left it at that. Also the brakes "It has cable operated disc brakes that do the job pretty well, though hydraulic ones would work a bit better." Finally, I would have said, "It has 4" Chinese knobbly tyres that are very sure-footed on the road and grip really well on grass and loose surfaces" or something like that. No need to mention the brand, when nobody has ever heard of it. It's all flyshit really. What you said was OK.

The problem with cable brakes is that they go out of adjustment pretty quickly. They're always great when new and when you review a bike, but when your life depends on them after a few months of neglect, they can be sadly lacking in stopping power.

For your own information, the battery charge level indicators showed full. The red light is the last one to go out. It starts off green, green, green, red, then green, green, red, then green, red, then red, then red flashing, then nothing.

The bike cannot be legal if the motor is rated at 500w. The maximum rating allowed is 250w. You should look at the markings on it to see what it says. If it says 250w, it's allowed, if it says 500w, you're out. That's the first thing you should comment on. It's black or white. This illegal bike stuff is getting serious now, with the police making many seizures and prosecutions every day, while as for the first 10 years I was involved in ebikes, there wasn't a single prosecution.
