How about one of these NEDRA - KillaCycle?

0-60 in 1.4 Seconds and 156mph after 1/4 mile.

Powered by what are effectively 990 mobile phone batteries wired together.

Oi!

Hey! Careful there Mike, that's verging on libel! ;) but I like your thinking :D ... ok, I do live in Manchester, but still...

So would this be called "ringing" for electric bikes then, eh?

"Just 161 lbs of cells in this pack" !! I wonder what the range would be (at reasonable speeds) ? The switchable series/parallel contactor looks interesting, though I don't suppose it would be needed on our ebikes.

On a side-issue, I've been experimenting with throttle control on a derestricted Torq, and have found I can get close to a "restricted" range by limiting the flat "cruising speed" to around 16-17 mph (about 1.5 times the "full-speed" delimited range - useful), which seems fast enough in a city environment and a bit safer than full throttle :).
