Hi,
Thankyou for welcoming me to this lovely group.
My wife has and older Freego folding bike which has developed a fault and so I am looking for advice about how to get spare parts and/or get it fixed but also we are looking for opinions about Volt bikes which we have recently hired and would possibly like to purchase.

Whats the problem with your bike? I dont know your bike specifically, but google showed me a pretty generic folder with a hub drive and ?? silverfish? style battery pack.
So Unless your heart is set on a new bike Its probably a straight forward fix if your comfortable with a screwdriver.

Provide details of the issue, and what happened before it developed. PICTURES are Very informative. snap pics of the problem, The handlebar controller/display and any numbers on its front and back. and any labels on the bike, battery. controller (looks like it could be housed in the battery base?).

The Freego uses generic china electronics using PAS /cadence .
One can retrofit any generic PAS/cadence system if the old is deemed unrepairable.

Hi,

The Freego uses all standard parts so it's very easy to get alternatives or upgrades; however, if you want exact plug-and-play replacements, you can get some of them from E-bikesdirect, who bought up all their spare parts stock when they closed down.

Volt bikes are very good. Any should give you years of good service if you stick to the simple hub-motor ones. IMHO, they're a little expensive for what they are, considering alternatives, but you get full support and backup, which is mainly what you pay for, and the specification is pretty good too.
