JE James are offering 20% discount off remaining 2015 stock of Haibike with the online code HAI20. Pretty sure that the same discount would be available either by phone or in store. My family bought 3 Sduro allmtn rc Haibikes from them they are a genuine UK Haibike retailer and nice people to do business with but slightly disorganised.

Worth knowing, particularly if they have the Haibike model you want in stock and you want to buy from the UK.

On the subject of bargains, MHW are a worth a look.

Their cheapest bike is a Ghost for £1,342 shipped.

Cheap for a Bosch bike, and it even has the performance motor.

How come? If the motor is giving full power on down changes it will put too much load on the mech just like the Woosh does unless it’s stopped. Or is it it very responsive to the rider easing pedal pressure like an unpowered bike?

I don’t have it on my Impulse 1 Nexus 8 and can make quick changes without problems. But I thought it is an issue with a mech even with a TS bike. The Impulse 11 Pro Connect 9 I tried at Christmas was pretty foolproof, and the down changes were fast and needed no special care other than easing off a little as on a normal bike..

I have no problems changing gear on my Ave Bosch Classic/derailer bike, although I do 'soft pedal' the changes.

I believe the new Bosch bikes have gear change assist, like the Kalkhoffs.

The Yamaha I tried changed gear OK.

It seems to me a mechanically sympathetic rider doesn't need any help, at least not on a Bosch or Yamaha bike.

So the TS is responsive enough not to really need a gizmo with a mech just as I don’t with my Nexus then. Just a foolproof thing to cater for all kinds of customers.

I couldn't agree more. :)

I let alot of people ride my bikes, and quite frequently I'll be pedalling along side cringing as I hear gear changes, and or poor riding practice.
I just take it for granted that you select the correct gear before approaching a hill, and down shift when approaching junctions, or coming to a stop. Odd how people treat riding a bike differently to how they would drive a vehicle. I'll often be with someone at a stop, and glance at the rear cassette and see that they have pulled up to stop in top gear. I sometimes wonder whether the motor, makes people slightly complacent, and they somehow forget that they are actually riding a bicycle, that also just happens to have the added benefit of assist.

Like you, I will also ease or lift before changing gear. It doesn't make riding any slower, and it certainly makes gear selection smoother.

Anyone know if the Yamaha system has the motor interrupt gizmo like the Kalkhoffs to ease gear changing? I think, but am not sure that Bosch has one too?
Yamaha does. I rode a hardseven and it cuts off when changing gears. You can also notice that from the you tube reviews.
