I'm Jeff from South Wales a returning Electric Bike user in need of some help.

I have had a leg amputated therefore need a throttle for off road use instead of pedal assist.

My previous bikes all had a throttle, but my newest purchase which is a byocycle folding e bike does not.

I am looking to fit a throttle but need a wiring diagram to install it and was wondering if anybody could help.

A wiring diagram isn't necessary. Instead, you need to pull the controller out wnd look to see if there's a connector.

OK but a bit bold as it is brand new and I'm just seekink info at the moment

Yep! same bike but mine not equipped with throttle.

Is yours the 'Zest' model Jeff?

Their pdf download shows more info for that, and other models. They do have throttles at Byocycle. It might be worth sending them an email. Or calling them on the number in this link for more detailed info.

Thanks for your help - will try a call on Monday. The model I have is the Bicycles Cityspeed 20 folding Bike 13Ah so just wondered if there was any info on retro fitting a throttle so looking for wiring diagram

Some of the owners that submitted a review have them fitted. So clearly they do exist for that model.

They used to be a standard fitting but not anymore - will let you know how I get on tomorrow

Greetings from Ceredigion.
They probably stopped fitting throttles as standard when the law changed. However it is still legal to retro-fit them. If you need a hand, give me a shout, I may be close enough to help.

Contacted supplier and signed disclaimer - now awaiting delivery of £25 throttle. Discussed wiring and was told just open controller and connections then obvious so will keep you informed!

Tonight finally wired up working throttle.
If you are doing this do not forget to hold down mode button until far right indicator is on.

I have bought one of these second hand and would also like to know how to retro fit. It sounds easy but I can’t even figure out how to open up the controller, no screws so prise open with screwdriver? (Gulps)
