I've just been looking at tyre recommendations and the Schwalbe Marathon family of tyres seems to generally come out well, then I found the following youtube video of home made destruction testing!

I don’t like that video, any new touring tyre could probably go over the glass and the tacks are specially chosen as they can’t go far in, normal screws or nails will still cause a puncture.
