How big is the Wisper 906 shipping carton?

I'm getting quotes to ship my 905 in the 906 box but after I noted the different weight combinations I forgot to write down the dimensions of the box.
It's a slim chance but does anyone have the measurements to hand?
Love you long time if you do.

Hi Mussels,

I'm hoping to pick my Alpino up this afternoon :D but, what I do not want to see is the packing carton! Just the bike all set up and ready to go? Maybe David at Wisper would be the man to give you the information, if he is on the forum today?

I am phoning my LBS later this morning to confirm all is well and I will ask them then about the size of the carton. Do you need the weight of the carton as well?

Regards,

Mike.

Thanks,
The carton and packaging is 9kg which is causing a bit of a problem as shipping companies like things that heavy to be on pallets, it can be done but the options narrow a bit. As automatic quotes don't work I need to request them manually and I want to get the details right first.

Depending which courier you use, they prefer the handlebars to be rotated in line with the frame. The machine will then be wrapped in a padded blanket and strapped upright to the inside anchor points. The one I used was AGP couriers.

This planned courier doesn't insist on a box but I get the feeling they don't add any packing to it:
Packaging instructions: We recommend using a bike box, however if you do not have one please fold the bike so it is as small as possible then wrap securely in bubble wrap / cardboard / bin bags. Please attach the delivery address to the package.
The fully packed weight exceeds their 30kg limit by quite a bit and I think will be above most pushbike couriers limits at 35kg. I did email them earlier but haven't had a response yet, I'll wait until I have the dimensions before calling round.

The 905 is only going because I have a 906 and it's a waste of a good bike to have it sat there gathering dust. Now I've got the wheel sorted out and back on the bike it's time to lose some of this weight I've put on whilst sat idle. :)

Do they collect and delivery nationally? Can I ask what they charged?

Hi Mussels,

My Alpino is ready and waiting but, the carton according to the LBS is in the bin! When I go down later if you want I can take my tape measure, although I'm assuming that you wanted the dimensions before you got home tonight?

It's going to be a good day! The sun is out:cool: and I shall have a big:D on my face later!

Regards,

Mike

Thanks but I can measure mine this evening, it will be easier than measuring bits in the skip. I'm happy to have my 906 back to ride home on, don't forget to get the LBS to check your spokes after a hundred miles. ;)

I went and bought a Park Tools QKTM1 Spoke Tension Meter at the weekend after your trials and tribulations as I intend to do my own servicing after the free check up at the LBS.

Mike.

One of the first things I did after picking up the wheel was check the spoke tension, it's pretty much exactly the same as I had it just before the spoke broke so I'll have my fingers crossed for the next few hundred miles.
