I'm having problems with my bike (Volt Pulse X), the dealer is asking as to what the branding is on the motor. Is it a Bafang R1, R2 and so on. I can't find any brand name or letter number. I have been looking at replacing the motor and on Amazon I've seen what is labelled a Bafang motor. Yet one of the reviews mentions they can't find bafang on the motor. Plus the new motor isn't as powerful as the original Bafang motor it's replaced.

I bought the bike in 2017 and pretty soon after buying it, some spokes were braking. The screws that are behind the cassette going into the hub and being part of the drive system, were also breaking. Leaving me at one time suddenly stuck in a busy junction peddling like mad and getting no where. I replaced the screws with ones I got from a builders merchant. I did return the bike and the dealer replaced all the spokes. All was well until now and trying to identify the motor has left me thinking. Is it a Bafang motor at all

I do have another thread going on here relating to the problems with the bike so the only question I'm asking here is. Would Bafang use motors with out displaying their name. Or do I have a cheaper motor, that has to be said has served me quite well In 2017 I knew very little about E bikes and it's only that things are going wrong now. I'm on a steep learning curve concerning them.
