I tried to insure my E-Motion Cross on household insurance but was declined as they have a limit of £500 for bicycles. Could anybody recommend a good insurer of e bikes. Not necessarily the cheapest. The best test of an insurance company is of course when you are unfortunate enough to make a claim. I am looking to cover the bike for theft and accident damage plus third party liability.

Hi Aviator,

You may want to try CycleGuard - there should be a small leaflet in with all the E-motion documents?

Otherwise you can go to their website HERE

I hope this helps and just e-mail, call or drop in if you need anything!

I would recommend Direct Line, £1000 cover as part of the household insurance, and they are not in the least fussed that the bike may have battery powered electrical assistance.
