Is the level of motor assistance adjustable ?

Hi ....on my recently aquired (used) Freego Eagle, the level of assistance on the "low" setting is nonexistant, yet on the "med" setting it goes faster than I can pedal,
...I have not yet tried the "high" setting.

Is it possible to increase, very slightly, the assistance on "low" and decrease the assistance on "med" ?

No. Not easily. You need a different controller/display. I should have one in a couple of weeks if you can wait. Instead, you can fit a bigger chain-wheel with 52 or 53 teeth, which will slow down your pedal speed.

I ordered a few to get the postage down. They're 18 amps for a little more power and they have nice LCD displays with several PAS levels and other features. Cost will be about £60.

The low setting when in pedelec mode will not provide any assistance above 8 or 9 mph. Even below this speed the power is reduced.
Medium assist will provide near full power and torque but will reduce/cease around 12 mph.

Maximum assist provides full power and torque and assists up 15.5 mph and then tails off as you pedal faster.

If your bike is a 2010 model or earlier then it will have a smaller crank, about 42 teeth I think. The later ones from 2011 onwards have a larger 48 tooth crank, which means that meaningful pedalling will take you up to around 22 mph. To go faster than that, your feet become blurred!

To test if the low setting is working, ride in first gear up to 10 mph, then ease off the pressure and just rotate the pedals at the minimum speed required to activate the motor. On the flat the bike should maintain 8.5 mph without any effort at all from you. If it slows right down again then there is a problem somewhere which may need looking into.
