and I like my new Alpino on the trainer size wheels.

ETs put it together well and I'm getting used to the hub idea quickly. Everything is in kms so I can only say I covered a quick test of 24kms today- gentle pedalling with the back problems, but a lot more than I'd dare try on the ProConnect S.

Initial impressions are that the Alfine gears are great, components/build look good generally, disc brakes are fine and size is less daunting than the 28". It slows a fair bit on serious hills and the motor's pretty noisy, especially at full throttle. And irritatingly my bar-end mirror from the PCS doesn't fit .

First commute tomorrow....

My motor is definately noisier than the SB in the 905 but it did get quieter after some running in, I'll see if I can spot you in the square mile.

Congratulations on getting your fine new pet :D

Can the kms be changed to miles in a settings thing?

Best regards.

Vikki.

I had it up on my new Park Tool workstand yesterday, missed my chance to get both in. :D
will the stand take a 705 step through style bike?

Depends where you want to clamp it, the 705 looks like the balance point is the seat post which any stand will clamp. It will clamp the seat tube with the battery off.
The down tube should fit (the jaws open wider than needed on the 906) in the jaws but I expect it would be very off balance.

I think my photo skills are not quite as good as the glossies but, here is one of my lovely bike at work!

Mike.
Is the sign above the bike part of Wisper's new theft deterrent service? :D

No, just my wicked/warped sense of humour (but, if anyone tried to relieve me of my beloved Alpino it could be apt!) :D

Mike.

I`m surprised just how close the frame is to my powertrek.

BTW the recent white Oxygen I had on test was white and had a WHITE battery and I must say it looked the part. The black battery looks a bit like an afterthought.

Congrats on the bike, enjoy.

I find that white plastic tends to go off after a few months and looks bad, it either gets grubby or turns pink. The black should look better for longer.

You`d be lucky if an E bike battery lasted long enough to discolour:D :D

To be honest, what with the mismatch battery and a brown saddle I just feel it`s something put together out of what was laying around. I`ve no doubt that the ride is superb and that`s what really matters though. You can`t tell me that this doesn`t look smarter Oxygen-emate-city-white photo - david chilvers photos at pbase.com

Same irritation with my new 905se. I had a lovely Busch & Muller mirror - got to be one of the best with its small clear image and long unobtrusive stem.

Anyway, the internal diameter of the Wisper bars is just too small for it - I spent an hour or two filing the Busch down until it would go in (not easy, as the Busch stem is made of something very tough), but it DID eventually go in, so my not-very-useful right eye is now supplemented by the decent mirror again.

(There IS a clamped version of the B&M mirror, but a) there's so much stuff already on the end of the bars and not much room for another clamp and b) you lose the benefit of it sticking out past your elbow).
