KT controller walk assist

Ive been in communication with Bonnie regarding my Xiongda 2 speed motor. She has told me that on my new KT 36svpr controller there is a new C15 parameter which allows you to choose the walk assist speed:
C4 = 4 km/h
C5 = 5 km/h
C6 =6 km/h
I had always struggled trying to keep up with my bike when pushing it up a steep hill, especially offroad, so I thought I'd pass on the information. It is the special controller for the 2 speed motor so I'm not sure if it applies to other, general sine wave controllers.

Bliss comes in many different forms.

Xiongda versions for the two-speed have special software. If you tried to use one on a normal motor, it would switch the direction to reverse every time you encountered a hill unless you set it to manual shifting mode.

It's so long since I had one that I can't remember how manual shifting works. It's nice to know that Bonnie is still around. I met her in China. Say hello to her from me if you speak with her again. I stopped dealing with Xiongda after they said that they'd only deal with the trade. They won't deal with individual kits or parts, so we can't get that controller anyway, unless they've changed their minds.

I suppose it's always possible that that function creeps into normal KT controllers, so always worth checking, though I prefer the 6km/hr start assist, which is very handy to get started with pedalling when hampered by shopping or anything else. I also use it to ride my bike through the very narrow gap past my van. Pedalling makes the bike wobble , and I have to keep stopping to re-align, so I just get off and push. I miss that function on my TSDZ02.

Think it's on all the newer KT controllers. My LCD3 definitely has a C15.

She has sold me a kit back in February but maybe it was because I had bought a motor back in 2019. I'm just an ordinary punter.

You are correct in saying that this controller is special for the 2 speed motor. I wouldn't attempt to use this controller on a "normal" hub motor, only on a different Xiongda motor, as in this case the software is compatible with a change in settings.

Potential to be an amusing anti theft device. Leave it in reverse when you put it in the bike rack at the newsagents.
