Any one know about these? Do they have a throttle only function? I have searched but can't find any info about this.

Thanks in advance,

Iain

Hi we are looking at stocking these bikes. I am not aware of any of the KTM electric bike range having a throttle. The links below should be useful.

no throttle on my new KTM Race Ian....no need for one, as its just a case of clicking the left hand remote control to Turbo and hang on tight, as the first pedal stroke is a powerful one

Thanks for the reply Barry. How are you getting on with it? Have you off road on it much or is it for road use?
I'm unsure about only having pedal assist as imagine it would be hard to regulate the power plus I'm used to motorbikes!

Hi

My advice would be to try the KTM bike or something similar such. This is because some of our customers have requested a bike with a throttle and then after a few test rides decided that a throttle is not needed.

Ian...my wife has a Garry Fisher with a front hub Juicy Bike conversion, plus throttle, and it has been excellent...she now very rarely uses the throttle as the cadence sensor in the pedelec provides just enough extra oomph, BUT it is nothing like as user friendly as the Bosch torque sensor..
basically the 5 options on the remote thumb switch on the bars, are 0 assist, 30%, 100%, 150% or 250% or something like that...so whatever your input is, it is boosted by that amount, and it feels very different to the cadence sensor, which is just based on crank speed, eg the lower the gear the faster the motor works, so not much assist, or none, with longer gears

I have had it off road around the tracks of Alexander Palace in nth London, and there are some serious hills here, but with a bit of serious rider input, it goes anywhere....
I am still pretty keen to give it some welly myself, so usually stay away from the big inputs, and hang around the +30, or +100 at a pinch
.....unpowered it feels like an expensive mountain bike...........excellent
but as electrifyingcycles says, you have to have a go somewhere...although having said that, I ended up buying one with fingers X'd
cheers barryc.

Hi,

Yes would like to try one but they are few and far between at present. I have not been on an electric bike for any length of time so just thought the throttle would suit me most. I take your point about the pedal assist I will explore these options.
Barry did you consider the Haibike? What made you go for the ktm? Many thanks,

Iain
