Li-po and Li-ion

Just bought a trike with a Li-po battery ( balance is buggered and kept falling off my bike) I have a Li-ion battery on my bike which looks to be the same connection, can I use this as a spare or is something different.

check with a volt meter to make sure polarity and voltage is the same on both but why not, it should be OK.

Many batteries that are labelled li-po are ordinary common or garden li-ion batteries. What we normally mean by lipos are the R/C batteries that you get in blocks up to 6S that don't have a BMS, so you have to balance charge them.
