Hi all I'm thinking about buying my first e bike. I have been thinking about buying a LifeCycle Strada GT as anyone tried one?
I have not seen anything on this bike other than what's on LifeCycle website.

This is one of the Lifecycles which has a naughty off-road button, so it will belt along if you want it to.

I've ridden other Lifecycles with this feature and it really makes a difference to achievable top speed.

The Strada GT also appears to have an enormous battery, good if you like going fast or on long journeys.

Otherwise, it's a bog-standard rather uninspiring Chinese bike with serviceable, but very basic, kit and components.

The price is £2,500, which looks a lot when you can buy an ebike with very similar components for £750.

But that wouldn't have the speed or huge battery of the Strada.

I do make it a policy never to question the competitors but the spec of that bike is not that you would expect from a £2500 bike excepting the huge battery-what does that battery weigh?
The Acera gears are really the mid range of the Shimano family,Tourney>Acera>Deore>Alivio.
Perhaps a comparison with my Kudos 'King' bike may be interesting.

It looks like a nice bike - slightly higher spec than your average Chinese bike. I'd have expected an LCD display with voltage and watts plus at least 5 levels of assist for that money. Saneagle bought a Carera Kraken that has similar specification to that one for £90 in nearly new condition. He added a new 20 aH battery and a quality 500W motor and stuff for about £600 extra. That would save you £1900. I'd say that it's worth about £1600 to £1800 compared with other bikes.

I fancy some chips and egg along with some fried slices of battered spam. Maybe sprinkle it with some allspice or coriander.

I see their blurb, on the website, claims it has 2 or 3 times the power of other ebikes, when it actually means 2 or 3 times the battery capacity, at 2.4ah.

Par for the course.
