I've been in and out of my local village numerous times but today I got noticed by a local character who kept calling people over to look at the electric bicycle. Much interest ensued, with several asking if I could patent it. I wish.
There was some genuine interest shown in the prospect of electrifying an existing bike, so I might see some approach made to me for contact details and maybe help with a build- who knows.
The blokes that were around it were mostly in their 50s and when I mentioned my dodgy knees spurred my quest for motorising my existing bike, a couple of chins were stroked thoughtfully. When I also mentioned it costs a couple of cents to charge it up for a likely range of 30 miles, a further couple of chins got the stroking treatment.
All in all, a productive half hour spent gabbing and now electric bikes are on the map here
