THE POLICE and Crime Commissioner is calling for urgent changes to the law to allow the police to destroy vehicles used to commit crime and anti-social behaviour, within seven days of seizure rather than 14.

I fully agree you should record all interactions with the police, as it is incredible how many times their body cams stop functioning.

Though this particular you tuber possibly isnt the best example to use

All you need to do is know the law, stand your ground, and if they're completely full of themselves and don't listen, threaten them with a civil claim. Switch your phone on and record everything and ask them to switch on their bodycam too. Ay_audits on Youtube has dealing with the police down to a fine art. He carries all the laws and regulations in his rucksack in case of disputes. He was live-streaming at Epping the a couple of nights ago with 60,000 watching him live. He made £2000 in superchats plus all the money from ads and views. Not bad for one night's work, and he does it every night. See this one from 17:00:
The 'auditor' has studied the technique on how to talk to people like security guards and defuse any aggression towards himself
Then to bring them into a conversation where they reveal more than they might.
A series of statements then engaging follow up questions.

Whats his reason for being there ? To cause fear and alarm amongst any residents ?. Or get some "info " he can present as hard facts, instead of what it is, just some gossip or such out of a loose lipped security guard.
Possibly to get a confrontation with some of the residents, for maximizing clicks on his youtube or tiktok channel.

Race baiting seems to be all the rage these days.

Can they do that , legally?
Seems like a good idea though. You keep the bike, we keep the kit 'cos that's the illegal bit.

Bike couriers, Just Eat, and Uber Eats deliverers are very courageous in earning their living through this kind of work, which has a long tradition. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dabbawala - It’s understandable that these drivers try to make the best of their situation and customize their bikes to make their work easier. It’s a long day cycling in wind and weather for 6 to 10 hours or longer....

But why not be legal and buy a moped? It’s cheaper anyway and more trouble-free. The current system invites trouble, from seized bikes to battery fires, not to mention the costs of replacing stolen battery packs and bikes due to theft.

Ultimately, it’s everyone’s choice. The real nuisance is when riders drive around without lights, on sidewalks, against traffic, and fail to obey traffic signals. At least they don’t do wheelies, donuts, or other stunts like some bums in parks and public lawns to impress... whom? Anyway, getting rid of this illegal behavior would be beneficial for a quieter life on the road. https://news.sky.com/story/driver-killed-showboating-e-bike-rider-to-teach-him-a-lesson-13312432

Regarding throttle use: when using pedal assist at a high power level while pedaling, the result feels similar to using a throttle as everyone with an ebike know, unless someone wants to let their legs dangle So, the legal option isn’t soooo bad or unbearable after all.
Aren't ICE mopeds worse in terms of noise pollution?
Throttle relies on muscle memory compared to PAS which requires you to be aware of the PAS level to avoid unexpected acceleration.
Throttle might be better when used mainly or only on hills and headwinds due to better ability to balance on steep hills, allowing high rpm in granny gears in case of a mid-drive. Leg power is normally reserved for flats and when taking off.

The brakes were defective? Descending from hills generates more power than available on any ebike.
Yes, they didn't mention anything being defective. The bike is fitted with decent hydraulic disc brakes and has fairly chunky tyres, so shouldn't have any problem stopping. Compare that with typical road bike with rim brakes and a 1" tyre doing 50 mph down a long hill, which is a regular speed I reached when riding my road bike down my hills.

I would be able to understand their comment if that was one of those 1000w pancake motors in your typical catalogue bike with rim brakes. Also, the 30 mph would be a no-load maximum speed. It's not going to achieve that when being ridded.

Comments like that, which are easily debunked doesn't help the cause.
