Could anyone tell me where i could get some flaps for the end of these mudguards ? Not huge ones , enough to catch more spray form front mostly .

Thanks

Rob

In order to find the size that works best you could experiment a little with duct tape.
Be warned though, I did this years back and though it's not the most elegant solution I've have never found anything better so never got any further than replacing it every few months.

I make mudflaps from the leg of an old wellington boot. I have also used the plastic from a one gallon oil bottle. By making your own, you can get whatever size you want. I drill the mudguard, and use small nuts and bolts for attachment. Temporarily put a bit of wood between mudguard and tyre to avoid drilling the tyre.

Personally, I'd go with the SKS flap linked to by Jonah. I use that mud flap and it works very well and fits neatly onto the mudguard. Your bike looks nice, and bits of old Wellington boot attached to it may spoil the appearance. It's worth £3.99 to keep it looking presentable.

Hi Neptune,

I was just about to say that you are carrying things a little bit too far or should I've had said a little bit too far back.;)

If using wellie boots, make sure it's a decent hunting or horsey make - non of the common mucky ones like roadmenders or builders use. :)

mud flaps

I have always recycled plastic containers for my 'flaps,I use a paper punch to make the holes, then attach with wingnuts and a sprung washer, like the idea of an old wellie, have also used cycle inner tubes, which did not work well, BUT why waste good money on flaps? W

You're welcome. I fitted them to all my Kalkhoff Sahel Compact rental bikes.
