hi all

replacing my old steel type guards for full length commuter style gaurds but have found out there's not enough adjustment with having marathon plus tyres on( tyre scraping )is there something im missing or do you need to by a larger size.

They do have a slightly larger diameter than standard tyres so it could just be that you need bigger mudguards. Or the mudguard could be out of shape, is it an equal distance from the tyre all the way round?

If the stays are the one piece wrap around the outside of the guard type, you may be able to move to inside of guard to give a little more clearance.
Failing that you may be able to get longer stays.

thanks onmebike

the stays clip onto the sides with very little adjustment so it looks like longer stays.

thanks for the reply anyway

used the hole highest up the bike frame! that should have given the most clearance.(i think).

possible there is another hole lower but slightly further back this is'nt threaded so have to use nut & bolt,i'll try it out once i've found two bolts that fit and let you know.

thanks!

Unscrew the horizontal rods that hold it to the forks to move it further out. You might need some washers in there.
