Today I have had the pleasure to test the new Sirocco Sport

First off I noticed how lightweight it was, just over 19 kg.

Although the front fork suspension does not look that special, I must say that on my ride it was a pleasure. This conclusion was on roads/cycle paths with the usual bumps. Also the seat post seemed to do the job.

Normally I am not one for having my bike with a pedal sensor, but again I was most impressed with this one. The reason for this is simply that you have got 3 different settings, so you can adjust to the type of incline which is perfect. None of that annoying peddling when the power is too much. Also as soon as you stop peddling, the power cuts out which I found to be much better than when some bikes tend to have power for a second after you have stopped peddling.

The disc brakes were more than adequate for my ride out.Better than I imagined they would be, although the back one was a little too sharp at times.I think that this is more of getting used to it though.

The power of this bike was a little slower than some of the other 250 Watts I have riden, but that did not seem to matter at all.

The motor was extremely quiet at all times, and even up the steep hills. Probably not ridden a bike which as come as close IMHO.

I am 6 ft 2 inch's tall and found that although I was leaning slightly forward, I don't think that is an issue to worry about. I feel if this was my own bike I would consider putting a stem riser on it, but would make an opinion on this after riding it more.

To sum it up I feel for having a price tag of just £600 I would definitely be happy with one of these bikes for every day usage. It has got a nice stand attached. The overall ride was extremely pleasing. Switching through the three power modes was a pure joy to use. The brakes were of a good standard, and not to forget that this bike does look really stealthy which I always feel is a bonus. The front suspension was good which was also pleasing. Not the best, but good enough for a long ride out IMHO.

I hope this review is of some use to all of you.

Hi Saneagle

Glad you enjoyed it. Can see you're pretty tall, so good to know it was OK, but my guess is that this would be the uppermost limit. I' m actually only 5 ft 2", so fitted a different seat post and took one out for the first time this afternoon. Absolutely no problem - in fact, thoroughly enjoyed it, and definitely made me feel young again.

Someone will be along shortly to claim that because it's got two wheels and a saddle it must be a rip-off of another design.

Yes, it looks very similar to the Kudos King Carbon, but without the carbon frame and most of the other bits.

Dave,I rather regretted the quitting of the Kudos King Carbon,if I am honest it was a brave move for such a young company to produce a carbon frame e-bike. I should have learnt from my yacht racing days that carbon fibre is a wonderful material as long as you don't want to attach bits to it.
With a mountain bike style the battery is subjected to high loads and it needed to be strongly attached to the carbon frame, the chinese had not appreciated the loads involved, however to be fair to the manufacturer they credited us back much of the cost and we passed that onto Pedelec members-you guys are an enterprising lot and soon executed a solid repair-nice to hear from those customers who picked up some very cheap, very light high specification(hydraulic brakes etc)carbon bikes.
Will have another go one day,but there is so much new product in the current pipeline that it will have to wait.

Why didn't they modify it? Surely they could've put a steel tube re-inforcer in that area or something similar. It's a shame they were dropped. I think that they would have sold really well.
