Been using my mountain bike this week for little countryside riding. It was my first great conversion, Cyclotricity front 36v 250w geared hub, Momentum battery and an LCD kit I got of D8evh. Always been a really smooth ride and always gets my e-grin back.

Had some time to tinker today and I've had an S06S kit kicking about for a while with the big LCD3 panel so thought I'd kit it on this bike and see what the fuss was about with torque controllers.

OMG this is like a new bike, once you get used to the fact that the motor seems to always spin at the same speed, the torque is immense!!! It took a while to set up via the chinglish manual and I'm sure I've got some settings wrong (P1 how many magnets in my motor? duh), but it really has made my old bike come alive again.

I'm sure Dave will tell me the best settings, but until then it's become my new favourite thing!

Nothing better than an E-grin Paul. might be doing the same looking for a doner bike, something like a wolf in sheep's clothing LOL.

Bob:rolleyes:

My bike was a doner one, an old halfords carrera subway. Nice sturdy frame, only thing I added was swapped the forks out with some Rockshox Judy's to handle the pathways and tow paths a bit better.

I would like to set the P1 setting properly though. I know the Cyclotricity hub is close to the MXUS ones, does anyone know the magnet count for this motor?
