Frank....have been in discussion with TranzX of Taiwan for some time, the trouble is their pricing structure is strongly influenced by the prices they see at Eurobike,Germany, they have a new crank drive bike called Gryphon,as flecc points out the frame design with a frame encircled battery is strange and somewhat pointless. To my mind the only reason to buy in Asia is price balanced by volume(normally a 40ft container load),TranzX want high volume and high prices, they also seem to take ages to sort out R&D.
I suspect they are looking for a big German distributor to give them forward orders of 1000 plus bikes.
They have a full auto crank drive bike-7 speed.....that means auto change with centre crank, maybe a step too far on the technology, service by NASA!!!!....in the end there is a danger of technology taking away the sensation of cycling.
