Hello,

I am trying to keep (and learn how to) my 905se in the best state I can.

I have a few questions:

-What is the life expectancy of the tires in terms of miles? (I am aware that it is going to depend on riding style but just to get an idea). (Kenda puncture resistant with tape and slime).
-Each time I inflate the tires there is a bit of the anti-puncture liquid that flies out. This is completely normal but I am wondering if it is worth doing a top up once in a while... If so, what brand should I buy.
-What is the life expectancy of the front brake disk pad?

The more it goes the more I use the bike. I typically do 150miles/week with a smile on my face. I just want to keep it that way :D

Any advice, reference that can help are more than welcome. At the moment, I am mostly using the user manual.

Thanks a lot.

Tyres depend on weight and what you ride on . I tend to check for any wear patches coming through the rubber.
Not sure whether you can top the slime up . Maybe a mix issue , better to swap the tube .
Disk pads again can last 2 weeks or 12 months , just have a look how low they are . And check visibly if you get a few squeals .

A long as you keep the tyre pressures within the quoted figures on the sidewalls, 4000 miles should be attainable for the rear, the front one lasting quite a bit longer. I can't say for the brake pads, never having used the Wisper brake type.

I am almost up to 4500 with mine and they are just like new, I can't see any reason at the moment why i should get 10000. Still on original brake blocks as well, but its not a Wisper....

Hi Goryl

Thanks every one for your help.

As Flecc says as long as the tyres are kept inflated to the recommended pressures they will last for at least 4000 miles, keeping the tyres properly inflated will also increase range and reduce the risk of punctures.

We put slime into all our tyres at the time of manufacture, I don't think you will need to top up.

We put quite soft brake pads in so they are effective straight away and don't squeak, this does mean they wear faster than the harder compounds, it totally depends on your riding style how long they will last.

All the best, and thanks for choosing a Wisper!

Best regards

David

I forgot to say, unless you are able to give the bike a full service yourself, pop it into your local Wisper dealer very 12 months for a full service. Keep your service book stamped and up to date and we will honor your warranty with the new owner if you sell the bike within the warranty period.

All the best

Yes, plan is to get it fully serviced at least once a year.

They have a service book?
I never noticed that. :)

If you are covering 150 miles a week then it will need servicing more than yearly, best get used to the idea of doing minor work yourself (brakes, chain, tyres & possibly some other bits).

Hi Andrew, yes all our bikes since 2011 have had a service card ready for service details and dealer stamps. They also carry all the bike serial numbers and key codes etc. and battery care instructions. They are very popular!

All the best
