I noticed that my seat stay on the right hand side had become worn flat at the bottom and at first I thought it had happened in one of my occasional slides down the road, but during maintenance today I looked more closely.
It turns out the Agu x-rain panniers I bought last year have a strengthened corner protector which is stronger than the seat stay and little movements over a couple of thousand miles have worn away at my frame.
I've mentioned it here not because you are likely to have the same panniers but the widened dropouts in hub motored pedelecs may have added to the problem. If left unchecked this would mean a written off frame, I just hope that I caught it in time. The same happened on the left hand side but it was just the prop stand that got damaged there.
Thankfully I also have a set of Wisper luggage which whilst having minor annoyances does not damage the bike.
I've sent a message to Agu to see what response if any I get.
