Pedal assist disc help. Plus received wrong sensor

Hi all

I've got a 12 magnet disc for my PAS i've taken it off bike to clean the disc but which is the correct side to face the crank is it image A or Image B below as forgot what way it was now dam

appreciate any help thank you

The correct side is the one that works. You put it on, turn the crank and see if it engages the motor. If it doesn't work, you put it the other way and test again. After you find the correct way and have confirmed that it's working, you install the remaining pedal arm.

Try side A first then if it doesn't work try the other face, in theory the splines fitted with side A will face C/W so should grip for the C/W direction.

Hi all many thanks for helping, I did work it out in the end its side B to face the sensor, side A faces outwards.

I have been having some issues with this 12 magnet disc, like sometimes PAS don't engage at all

so have ordered this one with 6 magnets, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/146652642012?var=445325011692

its not arrived yet probably tomorrow. I don't know yet if a 6 magnet one will be best or stick to the 12 one, I have cleaned up all the magnets on the 12 one. and just cranking the pedals by hand it seems to work ok, on each level on the display

But if i find this 6 one isn't so good, I can always clip the 12 one back again as you don't need to remove the crank pedal arm, as the 12 disc is in 2 halfs so can snap it back on. also I will leave the 12 disc sensor on bike until I've tested the 6 disc one. as no point in removing 12 disc sensor too early

Don't forget to change the C1 setting to 5,6 or 7 if using a KT controller.
I don't even know name of my controller, its in a case, I can check it I suppose, But as for changing the C1 setting to 5,6 or 7 I wont have a clue how to do all that, also why 5 and 7 if its a 6 magnet

It's not a KT controller so no need to worry.
The C1 setting on a KT needs to be changed as the V12L sensor is reversed because it is on the opposite side to the usual PAS sensor. The numbers 5, 6 and 7 are just sensitivity settings for the reversed sensor. They have no meaning in the real world.

Maybe plug it in before fitting. Lift the wheel off the floor. Stick a paint brush handle or similar in the hole and spin it both ways just to see what happens.

Back pedal assistance could be interesting.

EDIT : Dam now all of a sudden the sensor red light isn't flashing when spinning wheel. don't make sense why. but maybe the wire inside controller got loose when I took it out of the case. but good news also as this 6 magnet one is arriving today. but i may still check that 12 disc sensor probably leave it attached to bike still

EDIT: 2 Silly me LOL forgot to put the disc on shaft, so hence no sensor light lol. soon as I put disc on all working fine. time i had a large whisky LOL. I'm still waiting for 6 magnet PAS to arrive so let's hope that's gonna be ok
