Hi all, Im new so be gentle with me! :) I have a Powabyke Mk1 classic that the throttle broke on it so I bought this..

ELECTRIC E-SCOOTER THROTTLE TWIST CONTROL RAZOR | eBay

But I cant work out how to wire it up. :-? can anyone help please?

Thanks in advance

Mason
Yes, It would be possible to get your machine working with that throttle, but you might be alarmed at the way it ran. As soon as you switch on, the motor will run at maximum speed with the throttle closed. Open the throttle and the motor will slow, and stop when the throttle is fully open.

Early Powabyke throttles worked the opposite way to others, and for that reason you should purchase the correct 5 wire throttle from Powabyke on the link below. The throttle you need is half way down the page.

Edit:
I've just had another look at this. If your machine is pre 2008, it may not be the correct one.

Have a read of Frank Curran's posting below. He posted a link to another throttle for pre 2008 machines.

If in doubt, contact Frank on the E-mail address also shown on his posting.

All is not lost. You've probably go the wrong wire sequence. I don't know the colours that you have but it's normally red to red, black to black, remaining two wires. If the throttle works backwards, you should be able to reverse it by flipping the hall sensor or magnets. Get it working first and then worry about reversing it.

Some of the small low power scooter throttles only work as a switch on/off.

Red to red, black to green, yellow to white. If that doesn't work, reverse the yellow and green.
