Hi, just been browsing the forums and I wanted to know if it is possible to get new Li-on batteries fitted inside your existing case when the original one fails.

No, as you will have to have a matching bms for li-ions so it all becomes confusing unless you are an advance diy-er. Better to buy a new battery (and charger if you change battery types eg Lead to NIMH to Li-ion).

PS I see your bike uses li-ion batteries so you will just have to fork out for a new one when it eventually fails.

I would say that the answer is: probably yes, if you're practically minded, If you already have a lithium battery, you should be able to extract the whole pack with it's BMS from the case. Then, all you need to do is find a new pack that'll fit into the case and wire it to the charger and power connections. Some batteries have extra features - like charge inducator LEDs. You might have to forfeit these. A cheaper option would be to replace just the cells and re-use the original BMS, and you should be able to find cells the same size. Naturally, this requires a bit more soldering and care. If you have SLA batteries, you should have plenty of speace for installing a suitable LifePo pack, so that should be easy.
