Advice from anyone please. Bought an almost new Btwin electric bike via eBay with only 87 Km on the clock - genuine. Seller advertise it honestly and said that he had lost the keys for battery removal. Would only need to do this when new one needed since it would not be left anywhere it could be stolen. Sadly Decathlon cannot help with advice regarding replacement keys - believe it or not. Any advice would be more than welcome. Cheers. Bill
It will be a cylinder type lock I would guess, which are very easy to pick, criminals do it thousands of times a day. Go and look at the many lock opening videos on YouTube, buy some simple picks from Tmart or Banggod, pick the lock, which should allow the removal of the lock, buy a new lock with keys.
Here is a video:-
Or buy some special metal routers, place in a dremel and cut the metal of the cylinder in line with the key slot away, that is start at the widest part of the key slot, and work your way towards the thinest part. You must use goggles as the pins fly out all over the place at high speed!!
Do not cut completely through the thinner part, as before you do that, all the pins and the tiny springs will be gone!
This will release all the pins and the middle of the lock can then be turned to open with a flat screwdriver. 10 minutes work.
This is in German:-
https://shop.multipick.com/de/bohrer/fraeser/zerstoerende-fraeser/fraesstifte/hartmetall-fraesstifte
but the top line of hard metal cutters, one thin enough for a high speed dremel , will cut rapidly through almost anything. I don't think anyone posted it on YouTube yet....
Or using a 4mm hardened metal drill, bore a hole at the thinnest point of the key slot, nowhere else! See here, the guy did but only just:-
You do need high quality drills, start with a 3.2mm.
Or go to a locksmith and pay!! He will open it, remove it and sell you a new one in about 5 minutes at the most! Agree a price before he starts!!
