Ride Control

Hi, I have a Giant Escape but my ride control is playing up,firstly it shows I'm doing 30 mph when in fact the real speed is 10 mph. The lights on right hand side of panel,showing battery level start flashing then goes to flashing green light 2nd one up from bottom. The motor does not cut out and keeps going even when I put brakes on. Main battery is fully charged. Help please cos I love my bike. Local shop want a fortune to look at it .
