Hi, I am looking for help. 
I have been thinking of buying an electric bike for months, however I have zero knowledge and I don't know anybody with one. I am keen but didn't want to lay out a large sum without trying first, not something any LBS was prepared to let me do.
A few week ago I was browsing the web, looking for a MTB for my son to use on his paper round, I didn't find one but did see an ad for a Sakura S300, "not working, needs new batteries". Interest sparked, it was 1 mile away, and I went and viewed it and it was hideous. The guy had the original receipt for £495, the bike was in 90% as new condition, so I bought it for £50.
Last week I bought new (15ah) batteries for it, fitted them and giddy with excitement set off up the street, no power. Mechanically I am ok, but electrically I am useless, the ignition switch moves the battery pack slightly (to make contact?), dash works, lights work but no power from (or to?) the motor.
Any pointers as to where the problem may lie would be much appreciated.
