While browsing for a new mountain bike, which will probably be a Scott, I noticed Scott now list a Bosch-eqipped E-bike. Anyone tried one yet or seen reports? They look pretty nice.

I did read somewhere that they were only going to supply Europe and not the UK though.

They seem to have a presence here so that would be a bit odd. You might have difficulty getting a test ride if this is true, but dealer should be able to order...but then what about the back up/support:rolleyes:

The shine has come of the Bosch for me with only an 8 Ah battery apparently? Also Kalkhoff being very cute with timing of the announcement of their 18Ah Panasonic battery, which must steal the limelight to a certain extent......

I got this reply from Scott UK ;

That is correct we will not be selling the E Bikes this season. They will only be sold in Germany and a few other European countries.

That confirms what I heard from Scott at Eurobike:

electricbikemag.co.uk::Electric Eurobike 02: Bosch

They told me that roll-out to the UK market will be for the 2011/12 season, mainly so that the support system/servicing etc for the Bosch unit can be in place before customers get bikes.
