Hi Everyone

i used to be a bike tech for a big retailer so know my way around bikes, building fixing etc. as far as electric biked go i neve got the chance to work on diagnostics etc just did basic part replacing, controllers etc.

bike wise i have (pictures below)
2009ish claud butler pagan hardtail (quite low spec) 26 that i have gravel tyres on 1.75 ish and i use as a commuter type bike, but like to thing it's a budget gravel bike with flat bars.

I also have a Calibre Bossnut v3 with upgraded suspension from the tripleb. (mudguards can goo_

So here are my Questions

(not bothered about anything over 250w i need it to be and look road legal and i'm a small rider anyway)

Basically i've seen some hardtail mtb are available around 1000 which will do most of the type of riding i'm interested in but dont really wanna spend that amount.

i either want to buy a electric gravel or adventure bike for under 1500 that is very highly specced or look at converting either what i have for under £500

the claud butler i dont mind where the motor is as long as if it is a wheel motor swapping over isn't a pain. the battery placement isn't an issue although i don't have rear eyelet on my seatstays for a rear rack .

the bossnut would need a mid drive and the biggest issue is a battery won't fit in the middle of the frame so would need a few options looking at battery placement.

i'm open to a few ideas including selling the bossnut to finnance a better bike. ideally i need an electric mbt or a electric bike and an mtb out of it so i can travel on rought terrain with at least one bike.

i definitely want an electric thought for sure.

i'd be interested in people's views on electric off road bikes that are not hardtails or fullsus ie gravel bikes or trail hybrids for example.

hopefully that isn't too vague thanks for all your thoughts.
