Shimano V Brakes

I am going to renew the brake blocks in my Shimano XT V brakes. I have downloaded the data sheet

Am I correct in thinking that I pull the pins and slide the brake block backward out of the carrier? (ie push the brake block in the oposite direction to forward wheel rotation.)

Just want to be sure so that I don't break something!

Yes, that's right.

Then slide your new blocks in. Probably they will come with new pins, but sometimes the old ones fit in easiest!

You might want to take the entire block off the bike to do this, as threading the pin through the new block can be a little fiddly.
