So do I buy a new battery for my E Zee Liv or a new E bike ?

I bought my E zee Liv about 2.5 years ago and it has done me well as I have a nine mile round trip to work which is very hilly on the way back and I have probably used it about 200 times ( I'm a fairweather cyclist)

Recently however the battery conks out about a mile from home, which is annoying as this is the hilliest bit.

I checked the prices and a new Lithium Ion Polymer battery is £400 + £15 p&p and as my existing battery is Nimh presumably I'd have to buy a new charger at another £100, so £515 in total :( . Also the bike needs a service as one of the brakes isn't working as well as it used to and lights need replacing, so probably another £30 or so.

As a new E Zee Liv is £750 there isn't that much difference between that and a battery, so I'm half tempted to get a new one, but then as the world of ebikes has moved on, wondered if anyone could recommend a cheaper ladies bike than it and preferably lighter that could manage a hilly 9 miles per day ?

Many thanks in advance for any suggestions.
