ive just been down to my local Lidl. They have some rather nice 48w soldering stations there with temperature control, sponge, two tips and two small reels of solder - perfect for ebike soldering - absolute bargain at £9.

They also had the Snowboarding hemets that we discussed before. These ones are white and only £14.99.

While you're there, get one of their Dremmel (Multitool) tool kits, which have everything you need for your next modification to your bike. Don't get the battery operated multi-tool. They're not normally powerful enough. Wait for the 30,000 rpm mains one that they and Aldi often do.

I check Lidl 3 times a week for these bargain tools (it's next to gym so a great incentive for me to at least get my bum in the vicinity of latter) ... but sadly they have a tiny tool section and have never found any of the stuff put on here. May be it's too small an outlet. A great shame ! Big Aldi is a good 8 miles away - so don't tend to ride out there on spec. Do they carry the same sort of tools Lidl stock ? If so, a trip over there might be a better option.

When they have the stuff, it's only there for a couple of days and then replaced by something else. It isn't like Do-it-all or Sainsburys. You have to be quick. You can check their websites for what's coming and when. If you want that soldering iron, go down to Lidl (not Aldi) first thing tomorrow and you've got a good chance.
