Swytch - early adopter with a few problems

I added a Swytch battery to my much loved road bike 18 months ago. It's been transformative. But I do have problems with the power switching in and out randomly. We started thinking that the sensors might be getting dirty. Then that it's sensitive to gear changes to match speed and slope. But that doesn't guarantee a smooth ride. Does anyone else have this experience?
