Hi to all,

My PAS on my 500 watt Life Cycle Mountainsport ebike seems to be having a mind of it's own these days. Sometime it works and sometimes it doesn't, what are the most common possible faults that is causing this to happen?

Cheers!!

The magnet ring is either slippingor it's drifted away from the sensor. Have a look at it. If the gap is more than a couple of mm, push it back to the right distance. Hold the magnet disc lightly and turn the pedal. If you can hold it still while the pedal moves, you need some good glue.

check also that the magnet ring hasn't lost one of its magnets. If the sensor has an LED, the LED should blink when you switch on the electrics. Check also the state of the cable insulation where the cable is exposed to the elements. If still no joy, check the connection with the controller.

Just to let you know that I went out for a fifteen mile ride today, and guess what? The PAS had worked perfectly. Therefore I will give you all another update shortly to tell if it has kept up well.
