Having been whooped on the HPVelo Spirit by the local A2B man last year I have been hoping for an encounter with someone so as to show off the speed of my HP Velo Street Machine. This is a 2 mile stretch at the end of this mornings ride. I spotted the competition in my rear view after which .. welll .. I floored it! However, my excitement and pride was short lived as I was subsequently floored by the security man!

Blimey! That was very dramatic and exciting!lol Much better then most of the drab footage we tend to see.

Out of interest what kind of speed were you doing, as I agree with oigoi looked a bit scary in the wet

It certainly put the wind up that roadie rider - if you missed it, take another look at him going round that left-hander within the last minute.

He might not have been chasing, of course - just trying to see what the hell he was following!

Hi eddieo, thanks. The downhill stretch which is a bit dark in the video is the fastest bit. This morning I clocked 41 mph (this is the hill where I have previously crashed at 45 mph) ... its taken me a while to get my confidence back! .. the rest of the ride was between 20 - 25 mph. It was a bit damp and there was some drizzle about ...

Thanks scottyf, It was mainly downhill so the assist did not really give me the advantage. The times that I am logging for my commute now are about 5 mins longer then when I was on the Cannondale CX700 ..so ..if I was him then I think I would have caught me! >.. if you follow! - actually thats rubbish .... the reason the CX700 is quicker is because of the uphills ....
