I got a new Alien kit, removed the kit from my Evans MTB and installed the new one. Well to be honest I prefer the earlier kit being lighter and having a smaller rack and combined throttle/pedelec.(some people prefer them separate and thats fine) Anyway, i removed it and put the old kit back on the Evans. So! as a project and a bit of fun I put the new kit on the Powertrek along with leaving the original rear hub(like I did after my heart attack) but this time I also put the pedelec on as well. So! two hubs, two throttles, two pedelcs and two batteries. It is great fun for riding around the local lanes with acceleration like a porsche. Great power riding with two pedelecs. There are a few images on my web site. You`ll notice how tight the new hub is in my Evans forks but slightly more room in my suspension forks on the E bike. The disk didn`t line up enough for me use it so I put my V brake back on. Notice how the cable now comes out from the side of the hub rather than the spindle which is good but also notice how the size of the spindle only has a flat on it near the hub where the tabbed washer connects. Luckily the supplied washers lined up with the inset on the forks (on the outside) and held the spindle dead centre so I think all should be well but might pose a problem if you want to fit a torsion bar (but thats the fun of getting around things) The battery lights are now on a panel that has low, med and high pedelec setting but there is now a separate switch from pedelec to throttle. you`ll notice i fitted the thumb throttle and mode switch on the left hand bar end which makes it easy to control from my normal upright riding position in conjunction with the normal right hand throttle.Fitted a pedelec on either side of the bottom bearing. With a bit of ingenuity I managed to fit the rear rack in position so as to be able to remove the original battery if needed. The bike is quite heavy but boy is it fun to ride around in top gear everywhere:D Lots of wires and cables but all up and running with no short outs;) BTW you can turn this system on and off from the battery /mode panel overiding the battery key switch.

I wonder if that is a motor from Goldenmotor Dave, given the recent 'alliance' between Alien and them.....

Oh, BTW can you get anything else on your handle bars! Must be like mission control to get that bike moving!! :D

Nice. Now, if you could get both hubs to run from one set of controls... ;)
Almost certainly possible but then I would loose the flexibilty:(

Hmm! I wonder if that is a Goldenmotor.

Yeh! I just love a lot of gear to play with and getting it all to work:D It`s not particularly fast at top speed but it goes up hills at the same speed as on the flat:) (in top) The Alien pedelec kicks in first and then when the Powertrek kicks in it`s like driving a car:D

It`s all good fun. I`m gonna sit in my drive and wait for a Lycra to pass by:D

Blimey o'riley that's impressive don't quite understand how it all works in conjuction, but I'm impressed you can manage with that many controls on the bars.

As for waiting for a lycra to pass by be patient! I had a rather amusing bit with one recently, now we all know my Wilma (cyclamatic folder) isn't the swiftest beast out there and as I was pootling along a couple of lycra's passed me and one said (in a sneery tone) it's electric (I could almost see him spit as he said it) so I thougt hey ho, then as I was pootling past them on the hill I couldn't resist saying 'yes it is electric and it's passing you slow pokes' he kept his trap shut as he flew past me 2 minutes later :D

Glad to hear you are having so much fun Dave :D
