Thirty miles in...

I picked up my beautiful new bike (Cube Reaction Hybrid Race 500) on Thursday evening after work.

Rode it home from the shop. Rode to/from work the next day. Rode out and back to an exercise class today.
So far its brilliant! Every hill a pleasure. Max speed to date is about 40mph giving it welly downhill.

Things I'm getting used to...
The transition between 'assist' and 'you're on your own pal' at about 16 miles an hour.
The slight 'bump' at gear change.
How flipping fast it is down a hill!

I'm getting used to the assist, getting better with the gears and the easing off to change gears to prevent the 'bump'

Can't wait for the next thirty!

(Oh, I've also been called a cheat twice. I told them I was from the future!).

I've just completed my fist commute after getting a Cube reaction hybrid pro - wow is all I can say :)

Not sure how the bike will hold up but the motor and the way it works is fantastic. I've been commuting by push-bike for a few years, using an ebike meant I did all 25 miles without breaking a sweat and saved time. It felt safer too.

My train fare is £12.10 a day so I have a big incentive to bike.

A good time on a local climb is around 6 mins. The cube did it in 3:50 lol!

Very positive opinions there. I've just read of a guy in my age group (60+) who cycled 1000 miles from John O Groats to Land's End on a KTM ebike.

Up to fifty miles now!

When I cycled to work in the past I enjoyed it once I'd got going but it was the thought of not using my comfy, warm car that deterred me. I've not noticed any of that. Even taken the bike to the local shop instead of walking - just for the fun of riding back up the hill!
