I have just finished building a scott bike, using the motor from my ezee torq, the scott has got 27 speed shimano xt gears, trouble is the gear shifter is hitting the throttle when trying to shift on to higher gears,at present i have had to leave a space of about 4 inches between gear shifter and brake lever, has anybody found a way around this.

We need pictures Paul! sounds like an interesting build......

My bike has same gearing but I use the thumb throttle (DaaHub kit comes with both) Is it possible to fit throttle on other side as some do this to avoid gear change. might not help as shifters on both sides I guess.....

Hi Paul,

If you prefer using e-bike / throttle mode, this is no help, but have you considered an EAF for variable speed pedelec mode?

I never really use the left sized shifters, the 9 on right shifter seem enough for an e bike to me anyway. XT my favourite...love em. look forward to pics, are you using the Ezee battery?

I was hoping to use the triple chainwheel to ride the new bike without power more often, the torq had a 48 tooth chainwheel and was not really suited to hillclimbing without power,my ezee battery died a long time ago,i have been using a123 batteries first at 36v and then uprated to a 48v 6.4ah layout last year.
