Give me a 2t race bike or any other motorbike and I can strip down to every single nut and bolt and rebuild it without giving it a second thought, but for some reason I get nervous when it comes to tinkering with BH. This in part is probably down to my lack of understanding of them.
Anyway I want to start to address this situation, and whilst the motor is away being repaired/replaced, I thought that I'd take a look at the speed sensor and give it clean. Okay the motor sounded like a cement mixer when I went to ride it last weekend, but equally the bike felt as though I was attached to a piece of elastic, being pulled backwards and forwards with every peddle stroke. Whether this was due to the motor I don't know, but as the wheel is out I thought that I'd take a look to check that water/dirt hasn't got in. From this link http://www.idbike.com/tmm-powermanagement.htm it looks easy enough to pull apart, and I have the torque settings for the bolts, so am I likely to get any nasty surprises when I take this apart, or should it be a piece of p**s?
Oh and one other quick question in relation to the motor. Other than via BH, where can you buy the same Dapu motor and or any required spares from? Again for future re, I fancy the idea of getting a bit more involved with things as a way of gaining knowledge.
