Trigger (shifter) stuck on my Urban Mover

Hi ...can someone please help ?

...the Shimano shifter on my Urban Mover UM44S U Sprite is stuck.

I tried to post a pic but can't.

It's a single trigger for 7 gears one lever for going up and one button for coming down.
It's marked Shimano 7 speed on the dial and SIS index on the body.

The needle is stuck below the 7...doesn't move at all
The trigger moves slightly allowing me to access top 3 gears but the bike is so low geared I generally only use the top gear.

Can someone please tell me how to fix it ?

Hi Mike it's worth checking that the cable to the derailleur is free to move, it may be sticking due to corrosion or the wire could be frayed, disconnect the change cable from the shifter so you can check if it's the shifter or the cable at fault.

If you have a look around on net you will find general opinion is that fixing shifters while not impossible is difficult and with low success rate. If its not the cable or rear mech then best bet would be to get a new one.

Wondered what you meant there, just looked again, I guess you mean Yoga Girl....lol Didn't notice that before.
