Morning all.

Rear tyre gave up the ghost last night with a big bulge. It's done over 3000 miles so not too bad. I am eyeing up the Schwalbe City Jet with kevlar puncture strip thing as a replacement. They only seem to be available in 26" by 1.5. But they are only £11 each.

I see the Marathon Plus tyres are double the cost. Are they worth the extra over the City Jets? Opinions invited!

My existing tyres are 26 by 1.95. I don't suppose the size difference is a problem. So what's best, and where are the cheapest prices?

I couldn't find the City Jets but if you take a look at Schwalbe website you can see how the various tyres are rated for puncture protection, durability, speed etc. YOu can also search for e-bike recommended tyres.

Personally my touring bike has Schwalbe Marathon Mondials on it but I wouldn't have considered them for local riding, e.g., commuting for the simple reason they are heavy and have low rolling resistance in comparison to other tyres. Mind you I might re-consider them once I have the Giro converted.

Many thanks chaps.
I was going to go for the City Jets for no other reason than they look like motorcycle tyres and low rolling resistance in my main priority. However, the City Jets only have level 3 puncture resistance, and seeing as I have had many punctures, I have capitulated and ordered a pair of Marathon Plus jobbies from here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351034124402

£34.50 a pair... result! Thanks again for your help.
