I have banged on about my possibly failing battery a few times, the last being on
http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/electric-bicycles/8041-symptoms-failing-battery.html
so I thought I'd just post an update.

I did the Deep Charge business (although as before I only got it down to 2 lights on the battery - wouldn't move me up a slight incline, but might have wooshed someone lighter for far longer).

But then just to screw the experiment, the temperature down in the soft south has been up around 20°C for the past week (NRG cautioned me to wait until weather conditions were similar to those when I first bought the bike before making comparisons).

Result (which I feel has a lot to do with the temperature!): range pre Deep Charge and change in the weather: 12-ish miles before average hills became VERY hard work.

Range now: 22 miles (plus). Still getting up smaller hills, got to the stage where more major hills would have killed me and bike, so didn't even try them. Again, had somebody much lighter jumped on the bike at the 22 mile stage and ridden off, I feel that THEY could have scooted up hills etc for another 10 miles or so.

As I say, my feeling is that the vast improvement is temperature based, with a little Deep Charge thrown in. But either way, you woz right (and Wisper are as usual exonerated).

(PS what about a battery cosy, something to keep it warmer?)
